The same person can be elected as the President of the Union for no more than two consecutive mandates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President has the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>represents the Union<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>chairs the meetings of the Council of the Union<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>oversees the relationships between the Union and territorial Bars, as well as between different territorial Bars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>provides support to territorial Bars in their relations with local or central authorities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ensures compliance with the privileges of advocates by the judiciary, prosecutorial bodies, and public authorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The current President of the Union is Anatolie BARBACAR, elected by the Congress on January 21, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anatolie BARBACAR has been practicing law since 2002. From 2015 to the present, he has served as a member of the Ethics and Disciplinary Commission.
