The list of advocates

The Union of Advocates maintains the list of advocates entitled to practice the legal profession. This list is published on the website of the Union of Advocates and a copy is submitted to the Ministry of Justice.

The list includes all advocates who have the right to practice the legal profession. Advocates not mentioned in the list are not authorized to practice as attorneys. This list is constantly updated.

Advocates whose activity is suspended (by request, in case of incompatibility, during the period of prohibition to practice, during the application of preventive measures depriving them of liberty, or due to non-payment of contributions to the Union) or discontinued their membership in the Union are excluded from this list.

To record the suspension of the advocate’s activity, the following request is submitted.

To record the resumption of the advocate’s activity, the following request is submitted.

To record the termination of the advocate’s activity, the following request is submitted.

The suspension and resumption of the advocate’s activity are recorded in the list of advocates entitled to practice by the Secretary General within a maximum of 3 working days.

The termination of the advocate’s activity is recorded in the list of advocates entitled to practice under the decision of the Union Council within 10 days.

Union of Advocates maintains the register of advocates from other countries who have the right to practice as advocates on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

Advocates from other countries can practice law on the territory of the Republic of Moldova if:

  • they meet the conditions provided by law, except for the condition regarding citizenship
  • they certify their status as advocates in their home countrR
  • they are registered in the special register maintained by the Union of Advocates of the Republic of Moldova
